In 2014, a group of anonymous activists under the name Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently banded together after their Syrian city was taken over by ISIS, attempting to stem the tide of the terrorist group’s misinformation campaign. In this powerful and cinematic account, Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning filmmaker Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land) gains startlingly personal access to this brave group of citizen journalists as they face the realities of life undercover, on the run, and in exile, risking their lives to stand up against one of the greatest evils in the world today.
